How Our Thoughts Become Reality: Harnessing the Power of the Mind for a Better Life

what-you-think-you-become

"The mind is everything. What you think, you become."
– Buddha

Our life is a mirror or we can say reflection of our thoughts. Everything we do, every action we take, every word we speak, and even the way we feel is well directed and shaped by the patterns in our mind. Whether we realize it or not, thoughts become things, our thoughts become reality—sometimes in ways so subtle that we only notice them when we look back.

From ancient wisdom to modern neuroscience, there is one common truth: the quality of our thoughts determines the quality of our life. Let’s deep dive how this works, the difference between mere wishful thinking and true positive thinking, and how practices like mindfulness, meditation, and Reiki can transform our mindset and our destiny forever.

The Subconscious Mind – Your Silent Creator

Scientific research has shown that about 95% of our daily actions, emotions, and decisions are controlled by the subconscious mind (Bruce Lipton, PhD, The Biology of Belief). This is the most powerful part of our mind and it stores our habits, beliefs, fears, and emotional responses, actions and reactions. In reality our all memories are stored in our subconscious mind.

If our subconscious is filled with negativity, self-doubt, fear, and deleterious beliefs, we unconsciously vibrate at that frequency and create situations that match those thoughts. On the other hand, when we feed our mind with positive thinking and empowering beliefs, our subconscious works like a faithful servant to manifest them into reality. The beauty of our super mind is that it can’t say no or question ourselves. It only responses in a positive way whether we are providing it with positive or negative thoughts.

Example:
If you constantly think negatively like “I’m unlucky in life, I am very unfortunate,” your subconscious will ensure to bring the proof to make that true—by making you overlook opportunities or act in ways that elude success. But if you think, “I am capable, I deserve abundance, I am a winner,” your mind opens to endless opportunities and possibilities, takes inspired action, and attracts supportive, positive people.

Wishful Thinking vs Positive Thinking

It’s important to know the difference.

  • Wishful Thinking: It is only superficial, Dreaming without action. For example –   A person keeps on saying that, “I’ll be rich someday, I will be successful, I’ll be living my dream life” but in reality, he is not taking any guided action, change habits, learn new skills, or take opportunities. It is just like you are reading about the preparation about your favorite recipe and practically don’t want to cook to have its taste. It is day dreaming in other words.

  • Positive Thinking: It is holding a hopeful mindset while taking conscious, consistent, motivated and inspired actions always till the achievement of desired goal. Example – Saying, “I am nurturing a health body,” while doing exercises, following healthy diet, adopting healthy habits and routine. In other words, when a wishful thinking merges with an inspired action then it becomes a Positive Thinking.

Positive thinking works because it aligns your emotions, beliefs, and actions toward your goals, while wishful thinking stays in the realm of fantasy.

The Law of Attraction & The Secret

The Law of Attraction states: “Like attracts like.” Your thoughts send energy to the Universe, and similar energy is drawn back to you. This principle was globalized and popularized by the bestselling book and documentary The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, where countless people shared how changing their thoughts changed their lives. Even I too have so many experiences to share how I manifested so many wonders in my life by applying The Secret. One such example is, I was suffering from diabetes since 2012. In spite of taking all the prescribed medicines, following diabetic diet and controlling my urge to sweets intake, its levels never were into the desired limit. I kept on changing doctors after doctors and they continuously changed my medicines. I was on the insulin at 25 units this January. Then I consciously and regularly started saying to myself that, my health is okay, my body is fine, my glucose level is in normal range. What happened in late January this year was a miracle, I found a doctor who came as a Messiah is my life, he changed my medicines, diet and stopped my insulin intake. Within 15 days, my sugar levels came into normal range and now I am n the verge of living a diabetes free life.

Scientific evidence supports this concept. A study published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology found that people with an optimistic mindset tend to have better health, higher income, and more fulfilling relationships.

How to Always Think Positive

  1. Mindfulness Practice It is a very powerful technique which I have mentioned in my previous blog as well as in my YouTube videos also, stay aware of your thoughts and replace negative ones immediately.
  2. Affirmations – Speak empowering statements daily: “I am healthy, wealthy, and loved.” But while speaking these positive affirmations, it’s extremely important to feel them genuinely also. Otherwise affirmations don’t work.
  3. Gratitude Journaling – Practice gratitude as much as you can. If you look closely into your life, you will find so many things to be grateful for, like while reading this blog, your eyes are working we should be grateful for this. Write 5 things you’re grateful for every day in the morning because this will tune you into a higher frequency throughout the day.
  4. Surround Yourself with Positivity – Immediately stop grasping negativity. Newspapers, news, social media reels, gossiping, these are the negativity carriers. Instead of this feed your mind by positive stuff by reading great self-help books, meeting or talking to old friends, listening to your favorite music numbers, and surround yourself in an environment that uplift you.
  5. Divine Healing Practices – Meditation, Reiki, and spiritual exercises help cleanse negative thought patterns. They will certainly help you, even beyond your imagination.

What Happens When You Think Only Positive Thoughts

When you consciously choose uplifting, powerful and positive thoughts:

  • Your brain chemistry changes—dopamine and serotonin (the “feel-good” hormones) increase. You start loving even doing small routinely chores.
  • Your body heals faster, as shown in research from Harvard Medical School linking optimism to better cardiovascular health.
  • Your relationships improve because your energy feels warm and inviting. Not only your energy becomes positive but the collected energy also.
  • You attract better opportunities because your actions match your high-vibration mindset.

Meditation, Reiki & Thought Transformation

Meditation especially the silence and mindfulness, calms down the mind, empowers you to observe your thoughts without judgment. Over time, it reduces stress, rewires neural pathways, and makes positive thinking more natural.

body's energy centres

Reiki works on the energy body, releasing blockages from your body’s energy centers also known as body chakras, that keep negative thought loops alive. Many of my Reiki clients have told me that after a few sessions, they not only felt calmer but naturally began thinking more optimistically, their lives changed dramatically, positively and magically

When you practice Reiki regularly, your vibration rises. And as your vibration changes, your subconscious mind aligns with higher, more positive possibilities.

Why You Should Learn Reiki

Reiki is more than a healing technique—it’s a lifelong tool for personal transformation. By learning Reiki, you gain the ability to:

  • Heal yourself and others physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
  • Clear limiting beliefs stored in your subconscious mind.
  • Strengthen your mindfulness and mental clarity.
  • Attract abundance and peace through a balanced energy field.

Famous Authors & Quotes on Thoughts Becoming Reality

  • Napoleon Hill (Think and Grow Rich): “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”
  • Earl Nightingale (The Strangest Secret): “We become what we think about.”
  • Wayne Dyer (The Power of Intention): “Change the way you look at things, and the things you look at change.”
