In today’s fast-paced world, we often find ourselves overwhelmed with stress, anxiety, and endless to-do lists. Although our lifestyle is improving but the quality of life is decreasing at a greater pace. Even having a sound sleep, spending time with family, friends, loved ones and eating a healthy diet have become the most luxurious items. Amidst this chaos, one powerful, simple yet often overlooked practice can truly transform our lives — gratitude. When consciously, regularly and from the core of the heart practiced, gratitude becomes more than just saying “thank you”; it becomes a mindset, a healing frequency that shifts our energy, aligns us with the divine source, our inner self and abundance of the universe.

Our subconscious mind governs over 90% of our thoughts, emotions, feelings even our patterns and behaviors. The beliefs which are deeply rooted here influence and direct how we experience our reality. Practicing gratitude on a daily basis helps reprogram the frequency of subconscious mind to the higher levels to enable it to focus on abundance rather than lack.

When you begin to acknowledge and graciously accept even the smallest blessings in your life, your brain starts to form new neural pathways — shifting your attitude from stress and scarcity to appreciation and growth. This shift not only brings peace to the present moment but also attracts more of what you’re thankful for as stated by Rhonda Byrne in the movie “The Secret”

2. Healing Relationships Through Gratitude

Every relationship — whether with a partner, family member, friend, or colleague — carries its own energy. Gratitude is a healing balm that can repair emotional wounds and restore harmony and balance.

Instead of focusing and keep on thinking about what’s lacking in a relationship, try focusing on what’s working. Appreciate the love, support, or even the lifelong lessons someone has brought into your life. Expressing gratitude dissolves resentment, rifts, friction among out heart and enhances communication, and fosters mutual respect and care.

In Reiki healing, we often teach that energy flows where attention goes. The relationships issues are often originating due to the blocked heart chakra and through Reiki energy we unblock it so that the heart chakra can vibrate at the highest frequency. When you bring loving and grateful energy into a strained relationship, you invite a shift, a divine intervention. The heart opens, ego steps aside, and healing begins.


3. Gratitude as a Tool for Stress Reduction

Presently majority of the people from different backgrounds like working in corporates, businessmen/businesswomen, service or even household people, are suffering from the mental disease “Stress”. Even researches and results indicate that 30.7% people had experienced suicidal thoughts at some point in their life and stress is one of the major factor behind this intention. Stress reduction is one of the most sought-after benefits in the wellness space today, and here gratitude plays a key role scientifically.  When you’re grateful, your body releases feel-good hormones like dopamine and serotonin, reducing cortisol — the stress hormone.

Gratitude also inspires you to be in the present moment, making it a form of mindfulness in itself. It pulls you away from regrets of the past or worries about the future, allowing you to experience peace here and now. If we exclude our past and future and focus only on the present moment, this is called the mindful state. In this state, your energy becomes more balanced, your body chakras, also known as the energy centers attain equilibrium  and your body’s natural healing processes can work more effectively — something that aligns beautifully with the principles of Reiki.

Reiki is a spiritual and divine ancient energy healing technique that harmonizes your mind, body, and soul. When you pair it with constant state of gratitude, the healing becomes deeper, effective and more transformative.

During a Reiki healing session, practitioners often guide clients to focus on feelings of love and gratitude, especially towards the self by releasing the guilt and unwanted feelings which are no longer serving presently.  This high-frequency energy helps cleanse the chakras, heal emotional blocks, and elevate your overall vibration.

As a Reiki Master, I often encourage my clients to maintain a gratitude journal after their sessions. Why? Because gratitude amplifies Reiki’s effects, keeps your energy aligned, and allows the healing to continue well beyond the session.
